Any one ever soak there heads in diesel? workd for a trucking outfit that soaked sledge ahmmers in a barrel of the stuff never got loose that i remeber. and no not the whole thing just like two inches past the head

  2. we have something similar in the shop but the clamping force is up and down not left to right. shop built heavy and takes a beating.

  3. hey mark if it is not quiet enuf find you some old big speaker magnets and place on the side of your anvil ....Wil be amazed how much this snuffs the ring. The smith i am working under does this at his shop with 4 anvils beeing pounded you have to do somthing

  4. Rattlecat beware. You will become addicted to the heat, sweat, noise and smells of the shop1 Then you will bounce off the walls when someone says somthing nice about a project you have just done and are not completly satisfied with but they are wowed about it. Just figured you need to hear that. And by the way welcome to the party! I am also just learning the craft and luckly had a smith take me in because of my day job skills(sert. welder). Again welcome
