unless you live out on the nice parts of 620 and right down in the heart of the downtown you should be in good shape. Have a brother in Bee Caves area he wouldnt have any trouble be he is out of town a ways.

not sure spray metal and the stuff we used is the same but it was NOT smooth more like sandpaper really rough sand paper......Think the product was "flame spray" and you could pick the coating ie. stainless, zinc and nickel. again very costly and not smooth.

friend i work in a shop that works on o2 regulators for the aircraft ind. DO NOT open that bad boy. You may think you have every thing right and get it totally backwards. And one last thought do you want that risk of explosion? o2 and any oil or hydrocarbons=boom

OK so i think I have a good start at looking like a blacksmith.6'6" and close to 425# but no i will not grow a beard.

Rattlecat beware. You will become addicted to the heat, sweat, noise and smells of the shop1 Then you will bounce off the walls when someone says somthing nice about a project you have just done and are not completly satisfied with but they are wowed about it. Just figured you need to hear that. And by the way welcome to the party! I am also just learning the craft and luckly had a smith take me in because of my day job skills(sert. welder). Again welcome

thinking back to when we used a few tires to help start a pit fire on a clearing jop (20 Years ago) the amount of o2 needed to get the rubber really going was amazing. So how would you force air into a pot of boiling rubber?
