They regularly turn up in Conn. and RI at the used machinery dealers. Check around. Good luck.

Try soaking it in Kroil. Probably not available locally so order it online. I have had it free up things that Blaster, Liquid wrench, etc. would not budge. Good luck.

Lower the tailgate and back up the pickup at a good speed. Slam on the brakes. Works every time.

Here's R2D2 bought at a liquidation auction of a local industry. It had a minor problem and must have been pushed off in a corner and forgotten for 40 years or so. Great DC welder. I love it.
I guess the photo didn't make it. I will try to figure it out. -
While we are deeply involved in complex ideas here today, let me throw in my favorite from Robert Frost:
Take care to sell your horse before he dies, The art of life is passing losses on. -
Take a look at the foundation plans for the large Little Giants in their web site. I used a belting from Texas Belting and Mill Supply in Houston for a pad under my 100 lb LG. Holding up well for a couple of years. Good luck.

I agree with hauling it upright and securing the top of it to the 4 corners of the trailer. Also, invest in 4 more straps and tie the base to the same 4 corners. I have had the base walk while the top was held in place. Arrived much like the leaning tower of Pisa.

There is another interesting event coming up on Oct. 21-22 in Branson, MO. It is a swap meet for antique machinery and this year is adding blacksmiths combining with the Blacksmiths Assoc of MO. I went last year and it was a good event. See details at owammos.com.

A mechanical brake that releases the flywheel makes sense. Thanks to both of you for the explanations.
I'm seriously thinking of getting a small press after a couple of my current jobs finish up and I have some available coin. Would be a good addition to my shop and the type of work I normally do.
I have two small flypresses for sale posted in the Houston Area Blacksmiths Assoc. website www.habairon.org. I am in Bellville, TX. You are not too far from me. Tommy 979-830-3578. -
Hello everyone. Look, I bought a tire power hammer, second hand, built by a Clay Spenser class. I can't seem to be able to find the written instructions that came with it but wanted to move it to a dirt floor and remembered that Clay Spenser specified how to mount it securely in the ground. Can anyone give me the way that Clay Spenser says to do that? I know that will be the right way. Many thanks!
Go to the Little Giant web site and you will find detailed plans for the foundations of various sizes of Little Giants. Very useful. Good luck.

Can you tell us about the forge you are using to get that big block to such a good heat, please?

I want to pour the floor for blacksmith shop soon, will be an Alaskan pour 6" deep. Although I don't own one at present would like to in shop layout floor plan incorperate for a small power hammer. How thick a footer should be poured and about large. I know I haven't supplied a lot of detail, but can't at this time, shop will be about 14x10. Any thoughts or experience with this?

I've done it Peacocks way and it works for me. Might not be necessary but squirt it with Kroil and let it soak for a while too.
