Last weekend I bought a 230 lb. Fisher that looks like it's never been used. I paid $125.00. It has 1938 under the tail on the body. Is that the year made?

Very nice design!! Good work!!

Fiddlers Grove is a great place and great bunch of people! Rutherford County Blacksmiths Association is another good place and good people, in Murfreesboro. You can take lessons if you join and get your 'green card', and get some experience from some people with the 'know how'! Possum Trot Forge in Adams, Tn. is another group that meet monthly, north of Nashville, close to Springfield. Mostly though, you can gain a wealth of knowledge here on this forum. Lots of pros on this site, with all types of backgrounds. Welcome to the site!

Seldon, hate losing my Kentucky neighbor, but best of luck to you in Alaska! I may be up there in late spring next year to do a little flyfishing. I don't know how close to Anchorage we'll be though. Maybe I can holler at you and Frosty when I'm there.Take care, friend. Clifton

Straighten bolts with forge
in Heat Treating, general discussion

It's a specialty bolt to fasten a dashboard to a 100 year old doctors buggy I'm restoring. Small, but a special head , and it's bent. There's two of them. Not a structural thing, 1/4" by 2".
