  1. I do have something to add.

A coworker told Me when rabbit hunting if They found a tree that hollowed out in the base, He would take a black berry bramble and stick it in the hole and twist. Evidentially worked well, till the time He pulled out a big rat.......................

  2. I built an electronic ignition kit from Radio Shack, remember Them? It immediately smoothed out the idle on an 68 Camaro that had no problems that I could  tell. One day I accidentally brushed against a spark plug wire and the next time I looked up I was laying on the ground looking at the clouds, wondering how I got there.

  3. No oxypropane torch. Just get a propane tip and that's all You need. The flame is not as hot, 5100°appx. vs 5700° appx for acetylene. What's 600° among friends. Supposedly no good for gas welding, I don't use it for that. Cost is way cheaper, cylender doubles for BBQ cooking. Cutting flame is different, hold the tip a little bit further away.

  4. The industrial store I bought it from says They only buy water hardening drill rod. The second time it got hard, although the only change was lowering the temperature using the color chart provided from the book mentioned on this site. My bad the shaft was tempered. One source for hardening color temperature stated 1700° which looked like I should have been close to. The second try was 1400° going by the same chart. Maybe They are buying W-1, will ask next time I can.
