  1. its probley about a grand

    same as prague

I am currently debating about 7 possible solutions
3 of them involve working with people i have talked to
1 involves a quick trip home to make some money then stia
1 I could head to england in july my cousin is moving there
I could head to a country where i know no one and dont speak the language

Oh cool, then come to australia. Roof and food, a lacky, and a bitta cash sometimes.

    .
  2. There is a bracket of markets out there to be taken advantage of, so the companies and importers do. And for the most, would compare as competition for the name and more expensive brands, they are not.

As my business builds and resources, I lean toward the more expensive gear as as far as I can. I have a Chinese tig, and would gladly buy the miller box.

I have $50 grinders, and the $300 grinders, walk all over the cheapies.

If it does what you need in the price range for you, with no problems, then you have your quality item.

  3. The few I do, I ask for shade or cover for a couple of forges worth, power and water, vehicle access, and that the blokes aren't ripped off for some lunch, or I take the BBQ essentials. I go to promote the club, and dish out trinkets for the kids.... Big and small.

One invite I turned down, was going to cost about $400.
Shade hire, stall fee, per person fee, not allowed to cook our own food, but we could buy extra food vouchers, and ......

The two we did recently, were catered, sheltered, and fun.

I think if you go to sell as a business, and don't have to pay for the stall, all good.

If you make good money and have fun being there, a small stall fee is ok, ...... A percentage of your takings? Snap out of it , unless it really is a big money winner or lead finder.

If they want you there as an attraction, they shouldn't be charging you anything, and should maybe offer some assistance, as the few we do, do.

  4. Club meet on sat the 19th, June,...

September gonna be the block of death tour again ( first week of school holidays) byo everything, .... Will be a couple forges and coke, tucker box freezer, generator, etc, help clear a few trees if you feel real energetic....
Enjoy australias wonderfull bush, many of it's exotic wildlife species, marvel at the diverse range of insects, Arachnida, reptilia. ( specially if you stuff it up and leave your tent open)....take the leisurely 5 klm bush walk,, being followed by the 4' goan....... I mean .... Absorbing the orchestra of the native bird population.......
Open fires and forging all week, spit again on sat night.

Competition for the coolest byo smithy setup,
    Best with less comp,
Prizes, beer, tools. And an odwyer no2 anvil.

  5. Awesome day at the demo. Thanks heaps to matt and pete for all their help, and attendance.. Bit drizzly to start the day bit fined up nicely, decorative fire poker from matt and a dinner bell from pete and matt to the organizer as a birthday present was a big hit. Plenty of interest from matt and Petes artwork attracted more club enquiries,. A visit from lurker, and a tong discussion.
Gidgee timber fire and Billy for tea and coffee, and a free burger and drinks from the organizers kept us, and the bacon & egg muffins on the forge for brelky, a ceremonious dropping of the left over eggs by me.....
Thanks to the Albert river winery for the invitation.
