  1. Well, it happened. Went to work today only to be told I'm no longer employed. I know I'm not the only one here that is in a state of unemployment, so if you have time and such, would you please pray for those of us that are in search of a job.

I truly appreciate your heart and time!

  2. Hey Bully, good to have you here at IFI. Your gonna find folks here of every skill level and from all over the globe. Lots of folks from Oz hang around here. You might want to check out the getting started section on the home page. Lots of great basics there. There are several blueprints available with ideas and helpful information... then the forum area... heck just pack yourself a lunch and a tall beverage, cause you could be here a while!

Look forward to seeing you around IFI

  3. Wow 2 saws... I only have one Husq, but I still have a stable full of saws that I can't get parts for... 4 homelites (one is blue with a 30" bar, a real mans saw) 1 McCollugh (heavy!)... So out of 6 saws I have one that runs... I have come to believe that is because only one of them is orange, the Husq!!!

??? have we derailed this thread??? Nah, still talking about wood workin' Stihl rather be beating hot metal...

  4. La Tour, welcome to IFI... there are folks here that are much better qualified to answer your questions than I am, so I will let them answer you on these important topics.

While your waiting for a good answer, you might want to go to the top of the page and click UserCP, there enter in your location. This will help the others give you better answers. An example might be what kind of respirators are available in a given area of the world.

Look forward to seeing you around IFI

  5. Of course it is! just don't let it oxidize away in that oxygen rich Aussie air! Heck if ya want you can send your work here and I'll quench it in our own special mix of Indiana USA winter weather.

Sorry about the Lord of the Rings thing, I started this weekend on my yearly reading of the books to help pass away the time away from my forge...

  6. I've heard tell of these things called table saws and scroll saws, heck even heard once of a key hole saw!!!

Heck my 18" husq can cut a table and I don't need a saw at all to make scrolls... Key holes though, isn't that something you would punch and if it needed to be fancy maybe a little file work?

    Crazy wood smiths

  7. Glenn good thing you got that snow melted off, that white stuff mixed with the black char could have made a big mess!

I can't believe so many people from so many countries could come to a web site like this and all be in denial! Come on 50+ countries, 6775 members... We can't all be wrong!!!

The hammer striking hot iron on an anvil is like magic. It can make it like no one can see you, take you away from danger and strife. Much like a magic ring our hammers act as the medium that allows us to slip away into a much different world.

Guys, guys, where did you all go? You wouldn't leave me here all alone, come on at least help me build a fire first!!! Just a little fire... At least I still have my hammer, my "PRECIOUS" hammer...
