Hi Flower, best bet is to put up a post in the Australian sections of the Blacksmithing groups here on Iforge. There's the BAWA for a kick off and the ABA too. Names that spring to mind are Wayne Saunders in Waughope (timbertown), Dan Davies up in Gympie, Glenn Moon in Braidwood NSW and Alan Ball (but I think Alan is very ill, not sure if he's going to be around much longer sadly) Seriously though, put up a shout on the site here for blokes and you're bound to get a few blokes pop up. If you like Oz as much as I did you won't be back. They put me on the plane home at gunpoint last Month, I went over to help Glenn Moon with a project he had. Great bloke, paid for my flights and everything. Enjoy the 'lucky country' :D

Hay buddy, As you may know i'm over in Auz for a few years. I'm desperatley tring to get in touch smiths out here but i'm not having much luck. I know you've been over to this lovley sunny place. Hello there, I am a female Blacksmith who will shortly be moving to Australia. I have already contacted a few Blacksmiths in Australia but so far I haven't been able to contact any that are local to Sydney or Melbourne. Hi, I planning my Australia adventure at the moment and would like to know about any smiths that would take someone on for some short term help? I plan to start off in sydney, then travel to melbourne and then who knows. I have two years Blacksmithing experience and would like to incorporate as much smithing as possible into my trip. Any advice is appreciated Thanks Davs

Hello all, I've been smithing for the last four years and find it to be the best creative outlet out of all the craft things I do. I'm soon to be heading off to Auz and would love to know about any other Smiths / trainee smiths out there as I'm planning to visit as many forges as possible. Davs

Hi, I am planning to go to Isreal & New Zeland later this year. I would greatly appreciate help with my quest to seek out other smiths in other cultures. My particular passions are forging techniques from the 1800's & the Mande Blacksmiths of Africa. I haver been looking into these various topics for a while now and I am planning to create a new set of inspirational reference points. Does anyone know of any Blacksmiths, or Metalworkers currently working in Isreal or New Zeland. I would like to contact them for research purposes and possibly to stop and visit along the way. I would be grateful for any information given. Thanks Davs
