Hey guys. Been lurking around the forums for a while and really want to learn about working with metal and blacksmithing. I was going to take some welding classes at the local Community College but that fell through. I was wondering if anyone in the Area around Fox Lake, Illinois is taking on students right now. i was just wondering on what type of gas forge i should look into

so i am not able to take any classes right now i was thinking of acquiring a gas forge. i really wanted to do coal but since i dont live in a townhouse i really dont think that is an options. any suggestions on were to start? thanks erik

Hello, My name is Erik and I would really like to find out more about smithing. I live in northern illinois on the wisconsin border so if anyone in the area wants to help out that would be awesome. I think im going to take some welding classes at the local community college and get certified at that. I also saw a place in Charleston IL that gives classes so i might look into that as well.
