  1. Enamle. i'd suggest silicon sand fire fused Enamle:

Wight sand-1 1/2 cups (hardwear store)

red: iron oxide- 1 cup (pottery shop) green/blue: copper oxide- 1 cup (pottery shop)

    salt- 1/4 cup (walmart)

    baking soda- 1/4 cup (walmat)

DUBBLE CHECK FINISH! suface finish HAS TO BE ROUGH!

PS: this mode of Coloring will ruin your temper

  2. yah. id post the pictures if they Did'nt have so much gore...

(pressure blast; it had cooled sufficeintly to not kill him as he was 10-20 ft. away but it was still glowing. as a general rule 80-200,000 ft. betwixt you and ANYTHING that could even remotely explode)

  3. my original idea: (Spoiler- highlite) take the gas out of the bulldozer and fill the Oxy-gasoline torch (Heat), remove a peace of bulldozer for anvil, forge 2/4 in. bar (mild) into arrow heads, cut 2ft. segment of spring steel and file noches, Saw gunstock blank out of 12 X 2, forge U-nails out of some 2/4 in. bar, make bowstring out of 550 cord, forge/bend a trigger mech. out of last of 2/4 in. bar, put it all together and you have a crude crossbow. Or you could just forge a knife and make Snares...

  4. Yep, the goal is to feed your self.

    PS;

A bulldozer that runs on *gas*?
i had a brainslip their, but you need Gasoline to run the torch and you have NO ANVIL, see improvised/primitive shops in "the modern blacksmith"

EDIT: lets say its a REALLY old bulldozer
  5. the last MacGyver challenge was good! how bout this Scenario:

After a hammer-in your camping in the woods also your hungery and can't leave the woods. you have:

A barage of hamers, tongs, a bulldozer (Broke with full gas tank)
1 full 6 foot peace of 1560 spring steel (1in)
    600ft 550 cord,
    files,
    saws and a 12 by 2,
    hot cuts,
    a full tool box,
an Oxy-gasoline torch (with empty gas tanks),
    2/4 in bar (mild)
    And arrows with no heads

  6. BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!! More explosive stuff!!! I might add to tetnum's post that you need to use DIFFERANT COFFEE GRINDERS FOR THE FeO AND ALUMINUM! I had freinds who didnt and got a free trip to the ER.

  7. I can't understand atheists, atheists dont live for anything bigger than them so how can you make clear choices? on that Track, Cheftjcook; when i forge AND pray at the same time, i note that I am not the one moving the metal and the things that come out look Thousands of times better to me than what i made two minutes earlyer while Im muttering about being low on propain.

(Son_of_bluegrass, Hollon: I truthfully feel sorry for you, seeing all thats around you and thinking it all happend by chance is one thing we christians will Never understand.)

  8. Why not make your own? all an induction heater dose is run High voltage thru a copper pipe. High voltage power supplys DIY
Sorry if i blow your minds out the door, but mine needs some company.

I'll post some pictures once i finish mine

PS: Old computers have Almost everything besides the truck ignition coil, i can get the schematics for the one i'm working on.
To quote so many blacksmiths "we're blacksmiths, it should take us less time to make it than to talk about how to!"

  9. WOW!
I almost belived I was the youngest here....
I'm 14 & 4 months (to the day) and have been blacksmithing for 2 months 10 days.

P.s. anyone know where I can get another anvil? my cast iron one is starting to fall apart, its to light for all but one of my hammers and that hammer is to light for me...

EDIT: any one have any thing to do with plow bits and Pre-1960 hydrolic shaft?
