Looks alienistic. Tentacular.

It looks good to me. I found out pretty quick though that the cap will rust on pretty tight and be hard to unscrew, not to mention the heat if you're needing to empty it during a forging session. I got around that by having mine extend down into a metal five gallon bucket full of water. The ash, clinkers and what-not fall into the water and cool off, no issues. Clinkers sink.

I can neither confirm nor deny whether any coal ended up in my vehicle before I left. I didn't steal any... :)

Just how big is that hunk of steel? (I'm guessing 2"x12"x36")
How much does it weigh? (guessing around 230#)
Nice looking set-up. I'm a beginner myself really, but I would think it should work pretty well.

I have been pondering something like this for a while now. Neat to see it on the screen. Now to find a vid or tut of how it is done...

Turns out they are strand woven bamboo. Not what I expected, but still neat looking.

Looks great to me.
For #36 (rivets) Perhaps an Altoids tin? They're rectangular and so would fit better. (And an Altoids Minis tin would do well to hold the chalk bits #21)
The Altoids tins would not do well for the Borax though, they have small gaps at the hinges the powder would sift out through.

Thank you. And don't be so sure.I am positive it was a matter of how many videos, tutorials, posts and bp's I've watched and read on here and youtube (oh, and how many times I went thru each of them too) that helped me.

As I noted on the other pic of this hammer... I apparently mislabeled this. This is actually the Right quarter pein end.

It has been pointed out to me that I mislabeled this... This is in fact the left quarter pein end.

Glad to read in your reply post that it does have guards for the stone and wire wheel. Probably still a good idea to replace the stone with a fresh new one. Better safe than sorry kind of thing. Definitely should fabricate and install a belt guard before you use it. Awesome find there. Good luck with getting it going and be sure to share pictures of it.
