  1. Very nice pictures above gentlemen. Cheers, Rod
  2. I used Satanite in the floor of my gas bottle forge, it runs to 1300C with no problems. The village looks like a great place to visit. It seems you'd need a week to see all of the attractions properly. I am mostly into knife making (hobby level) but thank you for the generous offer of wrought iron, I may have to extend my interests ;-) Cheers, Rod
  3. Try these fellas ausfire, they have refractory plaster. https://www.artisansupplies.com.au/product-category/knife-making-supplies/heat-treating-supplies/
  4. Gidday All, I'm waiting patiently for some gear to arrive to build my first forge (gas) so I have the whole journey ahead of me yet. I like to make things for myself (my longbow and an arrow in avatar) and I want to get into knife making plus other pointy/sharp objects. I also like toolmaking and did a bit 20+ years ago when I was a fitter in a sugar mill. I've been lurking around for a while and finally have signed up to introduce myself. Looking forward to reading more of your projects on here, fascinating and inspiring. Cheers........ Rod
