  1. Good Luck ...it will turn into an addiction. Once the word is out your looking for an anvil they will start showing up and it is hard to pass on the good ones so clear some space you might get more than you ask for. :D
  2. The shop smells fresh and it keeps the moths away ! I have three brothers one gave me an oak stump one gave me locust stump and one a cedar stump. Also everyone I know brings me old files and old ball peen hammers for some odd reason. ;)
  3. Hello, I've made a few posts and wanted to introduce myself. I live in Missouri and have a small shop set up in my backyard. I started this addiction buy buying blade blanks and putting handles on them. Then I moved up to building switchblades from parts I ordered online. Still bored I decided to make my own knives instead of just assembling them. It has taken me over a year and I am finally set up and pounding out my own knives. I made and sold several knives to pay for the tools and now I'm starting to make knives that I plan on keeping for myself. I can't help but wonder what this hobby would have been like 20 years ago without the internet to get the info you need to get started. Heres my shop its small and everything in it has burn marks on it.
  4. Pugman, I can not help id that anvil but I did see it on craigslist ,I went to buy it and it is dead as a doornail. I tested the bounce with a 1" ball bearing and it bounced about 1". The ring was gone and it had a thud sound. Its a cast anvil with a steel face but it must have been in a fire or something.
