this my coal forge almost done. I just need to make up my mind if I should put in a clinker breaker in the bottom or a tuyere 2" taller then the bottom. I have been watching learing and building but I'm to a point I don't know which would be the better. any thoughts, coments , I have made an adjustible tool rest that can be put to eather side and plan one for the end. I have the blower and the pluming for that it will be square. but that all goes in after which choice I make. every thing you see is repurposed and free. Including the blower

that will be a good you have an good plans an old country boy can follow to make one. I have a torch and chop saw and a stick wielder and some common sense. that's all you need for most things and I have a friend that will let me use his lathe and mill if needed the materials I can find I'm sure thanks
One reason I moved to a propane forge is we have burn bans almost every year for months due to the dryness out here in the desert. Propane forges don't count as they are a controlled "contained" fire. -
ok thank you for the information and as soon as the rains come and the burn ban is lifted I will build the mount and send photos of my work.

Ok this is the main vice I will be using I had to repair it it had been welded to a bench and cut off with a torch and the spring was missing so the mount and the spring I made along with the table in the shop I am working on. the rest of the vice is there I just had to clean the threads and re oil them.

ok I hunt where people will let me most dont mind it you go rabbit hunting. but getting together is a good idea. I dont live in oronogo but out in the country. its 13 miles north of joplin on 43 hwy. I have 32 acres I dont know much but what I know I learned by doing and thats how wisdom grows
Considering how close I am to you, I wont ask where you hunt but we should get a hammer in together in in this area sometime. Nice find, little jealous. -
thank you I got it fixed now

I was out hunting rabbits this last winter and came up on an old shed I looked around in side and found an old forge talked the land owner he said it was his fathers and I asked if he would sale it. and after we went to shed and looked it over, the bottom was gone and the blower froze I could hall the junk home. well the price was right and with a disk blade in for a bottom and the blower took apart and cleaned it works not a bad day of hunting :D

these came home with me yesterday from a yard sale not sure what the one with the holes is but it looks neet. the tongs are for hot coal and don't know the about the hammer but learing is half the fun. I spent a total for $5.00 for all
