  1. I am sorry, that came across wrong. You can apply to the VA to get care & cheaper drugs even if your injury is not related. Totally seperate from Social Security disability. I am sure during your working life you paid into Social Security. Social Security disability insurance was paid for by you not the feds. It is really hard to get SSI disability insurance but why not use the money you put into it for things like this. I am going to get back pay to 2006 from SSI disability. This is money that I paid into SSI since I was about 12 & not a hand out out from anyone. I would rather see hard working Americans get what they have comeing to them than some wet back that never paid a dime into it. It's your money, just use it. Your friend & fellow veteran Dave Huffman.
  2. Bryan. are you a Vet? Spend some time in the service? If so check in the the VA. Apply for Social Security Disability. It can take a long time to get BUT when you finally win you get back pay to your first filing date. I am going to get back pay to 2006. Get a lawyer from the get go. They get 25% of the back pay when you win. IF you don't win they get 0%. I got Binder & Binder, the ones you see on TV. Good luck with everything. Dave Huffman
  3. You might try lowering the hood to about 10" above the forge.
  4. I get out to Monticello quite a bit. I volunteer at the Railroad Museum. Hurt my sholder so I haven't been out there in a while. Dave
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome & the info Curly! I will try to get down to the auction but I have a crazy schedule this month. Dave Huffman
  6. Hello all, Dave Huffman here from St. Joseph Illinois. Just thinking about getting back into smithing after a 12 year break. Wish I had NOT sold all my equipment but that is how the story goes I guess. I don't want to get into art smithing to much but want to get into repair work & tool making. I am just going to take it easy & buy equipment as I can. I used to be a member of the IVBA & plan on getting back with that group. Also may join ABANA again. Dave Huffman
