  1. I spent most of the day monday standing in the blacksmith's shop at a historical site watching the blacksmith. Now i REALLY want to work there but they dont accept applications until January.

  2. you go to a scrap yard on a date in school you spent more time day dreaming about what you could make with the scrap you found than about girls you stopped using band-aids because it wase easier to use the iron you just heated. compasses start pointing to your property you skip your own birthday party in favor of a hammer-in you were sad when santa didn't leave you coal Borax is always at the top of your christmas list
  3. Currently I live in Richfield. I will be moving to Duluth this fall though for school. So I will look into the Superior Metalsmiths. Thanks for the welcome! By the way...anyone know how to quiet an anvil for use in a driveway in the city?
  4. You might be addicted to blacksmithing if you... ...keep your hammers in a locked safe in your room because you are worried someone will misuse them. ...only let people within 5 feet of your room because that is where the only bathroom is (and even then stand guard outside your room). ...are not allowed to help relatives with projects because you object to the way they treat their hammers. 5. Many places will let employees take theri scrap for free. My dad works as a drafter at a company that makes one off test rigs and they let him haul anything home from their garbage. His workshop is lined with chunks of metal and electric motors that weren't within tolerance for the company.
  6. Hi everyone, I am new to metalwork and am looking forward to learning though. Mr. Benz
