Hello All, I'm new to the site (see my intro here) http://www.iforgeiron.com/forum/f23/hello-pacific-northwet-2512/ and would like to find out something about my small 40# anvil. I got it for $5 at a garage sale and it works reasonable well in my small garage "shop". I'm later going to acquire my fathers 150# anvil, but this one will have to do for now. This anvil has the name Fisher stamped into it and a date 1895 on it as well. Could it be that old? Here are a couple pictures. Do any of you know what the history would be with this beat up thing?

Hello All, I'm Ernie from the Portland Oregon area. I have many hobbies and one is metal working in my garage. I own a lathe and welders but always wanted a forge for working metal. Perhaps I'll make a few knifes and some decretive hangers. Right now I'm building a Freon Tank mini forge from the Ron Reil site found here Freon Tank Propane Miniforge I've completed my burner and now I'm working on the furnace chamber. I only get a few hours a week to work in my "shop" because of my real JOB, so I should have the forge up and working in a couple weeks. I'll keep an eye on this forum and gleen as much information that I can to make this a safe and rewarding hobby. Thanks to the administrators for making this forum available. Good day to all.:)
