    Buffalo Blower #625

Not the first gear I've ever fixed like that. I'm sure it wont be the last. I've done just about everything you can think of with a welder of the years as far as repair work goes.

    My First Anvil

This is one I picked up and I don't know what brand it is. All I can make out on it is K NN also 136 or 186. It's rather heave so I'm thinking it's 136 but it's my first anvil so if anyone knows for sure what it is please let me know. Not that it matter though. It's mine for life! Yeah those are push rods from a 350 chevy lol. They were handy at the moment.

  4. Thank each of you. I have racked my brain and spend a lot of time looking. I live 8 miles from one of the biggest open pit mines in the state and it's shut down now. Not more than 30 miles from several underground mines as well and they are all shut down as well. I will have to give Mr. Gobble a call and see if I can get a ton or two. Again Thanks to all.
  5. I'm in Van Buren County. It's near Fall Creek Falls State Park.
  6. I'm new to blacksmithing so I'm finding it hard to find coal/coke here in Tennessee where I live. I don't care to drive a few hours either way to get it. If anyone is a member of a smithing club here in the south, please let me know where I might find a hook up. When growing up here there was lots of mines. It's hard to even find a working mine any more. Thanks for reading my post. Any help would be appreciated. Scott P.S. I hope this is posted in the right place.
  7. Here's the blower back together and it works great. In the background is the money maker.
  8. When I got the blower cleaned out it had a few teeth missing. I'm sure I could buy a replacement gear but, I welded this one up with stainless and recut the teeth with a small grinder and a file. It works great.
  9. This is the 625 after I opened it up. The gearbox was as full of dirt dobbers as well.

Buffalo blower the day I got it. I was so full of dirt dobbers nest it would not even turn.

  12. I'm just wondering if I can add welding pictures in the Photo Gallery. I've noticed tons of pics of forge projects. If not, is there a section for welding pics? Thanks Scott
