Hey everyone- following are a series of process pics for my latest sculpture. a couple people wanted to see this and this was the only way i could figure out how to do it. I began with a 2" diameter hollow steel ball and punched in eye sockets and a mouth.

chunk of 3/8" round bar added for lower lip

facial features beginning to be welded on, solid balls soldered in eye sockets

more build up welds on face. pupils ground out and a hemisphere welded on to begin hat

hat ground and chiseled.round bar welded on for beard

beard ground and textured

tongue fabricated separately and soldered in

adam's apple and neckfurters!

rough forging and grinding of arms and hands

weld added where necessary

pretty much finished arms

arms bent and welded on

body armature shaped

filling out torso with 1/4" round bar

sculpting of shirt refined

beginning of axe. chunk of 1/2" square welded to 1/4" round
