  1. It seems like every time I visit this site there is something new/ creative/ different/ outside the box. This piece is so well executed and the thing I love the most is seeing all of these blacksmithing techniques one is used to seeing incorporated in a railing or something utilitarian, thrown into a totally different context. Great!
  2. Yes! Such a cool buckle, the layout of the skulls is really pleasing and the tooling makes nice little sculptures themselves.
  3. No matter the scale you really nail the gesture and proportions perfectly, fantastic work!!
  4. Thanks Mark! Boy do I envy you having a farm, my lot is only 50' wide by 146' deep! Nice work on your smithy, i love the repurposed drum forge. Ha Jmc! sounds like we have the same security system.
  5. Hello all, I have been building a new metal/woodshop in my backyard since last June and I was wondering if there is a section of this site devoted to members workspaces. The projects people are posting on this site have kept me going these past months, i can't wait to get some work of my own back out there!
  6. Great progress shots! I suppose I'm in the "no leaves" camp, I like where you're headed with branches only.
  7. Just watched the wind test vid, a truly beautiful work.
  8. Did any of the glass pieces break during fabrication? Hope the client doesn't have kids with baseball bats!
  9. wow, that is super tight! nice work
  10. I think it's a real nice job, good proportions and the textures bring life into it. Self criticism is helpful to push us to constantly create better work, but it can be maddening at times! Good project!
  11. Skulls are one of my favorite subject matter- these are really great and the process shots are inspiring!
  12. I am not as eloquent as the above commentators. Let me just say this sculpture is awesome and inspiring! Thank you Danger for doing what you do...
  13. Nice sculpture Beth! I have to admit the form caught my eye first and then i had to check for seams (i was a finisher in a bronze foundry), the chasing looked great!
  14. Your work is really topnotch, the accuracy of the anatomy and usage of found objects are perfect!
  15. Really great piece, I love the shapes and the way they interact.
  16. Thanks nomadicdrew! Those pics are totally open to interpretation, just don't be afraid to make bold moves because as I see it, you can never really mess up if you have a welder and a grinder!
  17. Cool! Good luck and post some pictures when you get a chance.

  18. Thanks Danger Dillon! I have some decent tools, my forge and anvil are homemade but get the job done. I mostly do furniture and boring, straight up metal fabrication jobs. The sculpture is what I went to school for and what I love to do but for now the money is with the other work. I am full time- been on my own for about 14 years out back in the 2 car garage!
