  1. I got antsy yesterday when Joe (technicus) messeged and said he was gonna be doin some forgin and I have been reading alot about the leaf keychains. I decided ta try an make one I will post a pic of end result and link ta video but I ran outta battery time ta show makin the leaf..they will get better YouTube - Lighting new forge for first time.wmv stove pipe goin in asap!!!! lol
  2. That is a fine sculpture. The more and more you do it,, the more comfortable you will feel in trying and discovering new things,,,I never pass up a moment to smile,, knowing I am 1 step closer to maybe knowing something,,,lol,,keep it up I can't wait ta see more!

I appreciate the responses,,I wish I had osage orange round these parts, I would love to make some bows out of it,,well all the walnut heart wood I had saved for handles will now go to knife scales and pipes,,lol luckily I had 5 ash trees given to me also and i still have a load of 6 foot logs so I won't be cuttin that up for anything else,,,again ty for the replies:)

  6. Hi to all and hi to Joe "aka" Technicusjoe". I was bit by the bug almost a year ago. I started out with just a breakdrum forge resting on brick,,then decided I wanted ta be able to work all year round and build a permanent forge...well I scrounged all the materials needed bought a welder,,(another learning exp), and am happy with the results. It isn't finsihed completly still have lots of brick work ta do and run the pipe from the hood and paint,,but I am sooooo chompin at the bit ta get it fired up and runnin so I don't think it will be much longer,,,,,this forum is a wealth of information and I read threads for 4 hours last night I could kick myself in the xxx for not finding it sooner,,,happy holidays to all!!!!!
