I thank you gentlemen for all your input, now I must do my homework as it were.
If anyone else has suggestions please don't hesitate to post.
Regards
William -
I checked out their site, impressive to say the least. I totally understand the "lust" you speak of.
I'll await more suggestions from others if available and a reply from Nimba.
It's so hard, almost impossible to find a decent anvil in my neck of the woods, I have employed your methods of "searching" also.
Thanks again for your help Thomas. -
Thomas is there any particular reason/s for the choice.
Thank-you for the reply, I have sent an e-mail to Nimba requesting more info.
Cheers -
Could anyone offer any advice on purchasing a new anvil with regards to model/brand.
Thank-you in advance -
Check out Chile Forge, I have their Tabasco. I am at sea level running about 5-6 psi with one of their super burners and that baby gets hot.

I'm hoping Fred makes some of his collection available on an ongoing basis or helps other folk find tools they need.
While the collection is impressive, sure seems a shame to see so many anvils and other equipment just playing a supporting role in a stack.
I am with ya on that one. That anvil pic almost made me cry. I am having a hard time to find one decent anvil and a post vise. -
Perhaps weld a couple of pieces of small angle at the top of the door and the bottom of the door, aka a strong back. Perhaps that will help.

Sorry, I'm late. Pepsi. Oh and I'd vote for a Milwauki hand held bandsaw. Great tool!

I have to go with Coke. I have a cordless 28 Volt Milwaukee hand held band saw and I love it. -

Nice work, May I ask if you used a chain break to stack the metal or what your method was to weld. Thanks in advance.

Very nice, I do have a couple of questions, How does the guitar string fasten to the tines also how does it remain tensioned ? You mentioned wrapped, is there any particular method in the wrap ?

I am with Unicorn, also perhaps to hot a load.

Mark the center of the piece and hit it with a center punch and start with a center drill if you have one and work your way up to the drill tap size required. If you are familiar with offhand grinding and have a bench grinder you can easily sharpen your drill bits. You can even make yourself a drill point gage out of a scrap piece of steel. You can google it to get a pic. They have an angle of 59 degrees as I have made my own. Hope this helps.

Organized chaos, beautiful.

I like it, the alternating twist with the wraps in between. Real nice.

Welcome to the show,
I am in the same position as yourself. I am just starting out, managed to find an anvil though. All I can say is that the folks here are very nice and helpful even for someone just starting out. The Forum is filled with skilled crafts people and a wealth of information.:) -
Sending good vibes from Canada.

The chain link pattern is amazing. Thanks for the pics all.:)

I have spent the last hour or so reading 24 pages of posts for a man I don't know.
I am in awe. I send my wishes along with hopes of chatting with Frosty at some point.
Amazing community here, I am glad to be a part of it.

It's a great book from a very cool lady. It was well worth buying, can't say enough about the book or Lorelei.
