Fake. Snake skin print and printed hamon. 

If by fake you mean a traditionally made japanese katana then yes it is fake for sure.  There are lots of modern made katanas that are decent swords but from your picture this looks to be a decorational/ceremonial mass produced sword. You would need to take it apart and look at each piece individually to get more information about what it actually is.
