November 29, 200817 yr i saw a sword that was red but made of steel, i was told it was blued,if that was a bluing proscess then that wold mean there were more colors steel could turn, about how manny colors can occer in steel smithing?
November 29, 200817 yr I know the cold bluing solutions can turn shades of blue, purple, browns and black. Not sure how they got red though? Interested to find out
November 29, 200817 yr It may have been a variation on the 'browning' process -- this is a somewhat similar process to proper (hot) blueing and is a controlled rusting. Don't forget there is a veritable rainbow available through temper colours!
