We’re exploring the idea of allowing members to keep their membership card on their phone (for example, in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet). This could make event check-ins easier, avoid lost cards, and simplify annual renewals. I’m curious to know: Are any clubs already using digital membership cards? Do members find them practical during meets or exhibitions? Any challenges or lessons learned? Would love to hear thoughts or real experiences from the community.
January 16Jan 16 Are you envisioning some kind of electronic check-in? Or just giving members the option to show their card on their phone? If the first, be prepared for what happens when (not if) the system goes down. In the words of Montgomery Scott, the more complicated they make the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the works.
