Fabricated Anvil

Spotted this block anvil in a video of a smith somewhere in the developing world. 

Interesting to note that it appears to be fabricated from a stack of plates welded together at the edges. 

Not ideal, perhaps, but apparently sufficient to the task.

Those barefoot smitties sitting criss-cross-apple-sauce in front of makeshift everything have some skills.  I enjoy watching them making do with what they have and turning out respectable knives and implements.
