I made this little thing out of a cut off piece of rail that was an inch or so thick. The wife wanted an anvil to make jewelry on and I figured why not. I was going to cut it in half and use the other piece for a bottom tool of some sort in my anvil but she wanted to keep it the way it is and since a happy wife means a happy life, she got it. I may see if I can find another piece and make a pair of bottom tools for my anvil. Or I might sneak this one away if she doesn't use it often enough lol

 

 

Polish up the rail end and it qualifies as a jeweler's anvil.
