Mende Posted June 6, 2008 Share Posted June 6, 2008 you have to heat up a bar of steel and use a wrench ( the specialized ones have 2 handles) to twist it in different directions . .. to obtain those effects you have to use selective heating. He lists this site as a link from his site if I remember correctly. Although he does not check in very often. Mende is on the right track. The way I would do it is twist one direction at a time. I use a rosebud to spot heat a portion of the bar, twist the desired amount in one direction, cool it off, then repeat in the opposite direction.
