irnsrgn Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 With a lathe and a mill you can make your own accesories. I started with a pair of large Angle Blocks that were a gift and drilled and tapped them for easier set up. photo 1 Then I needed an Indexer. photo 2 Then making a few extra parts, photo 3 I had a dividing head. R Funk Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Irnsrgn, Great work! You must have a of time in all that fine tooling! Quote
HWooldridge Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Outstanding - shows what a real machinist can do if he sets his mind to a task. Quote
irnsrgn Posted February 14, 2008 Author Posted February 14, 2008 winter were always more or less slow times in the shop, so that was time to repair and build stuff for yourself. besides I love to make tools. probably cheaper to buy, but then I can say, I made that. Quote
Norseman C.B. Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I love the K.I.S.S engineering on that dividing head. My old college instructor made one for a mini mill from modified plans in the home shop machinist mag, about twelve years back.. lots more detailed parts. Is this one good and steady like it looks ...? Quote
