Noah Thomas Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Picked up this GE anvil from my neighbor. 125 lbs. nice ring, ball bearing test. The anvil was never fettled, but has seen some light use around the clip shelf and heel. I started to sand down the face so there's less for the Blanchard grinder when I take it in. Started with a 40 grit sanding disc, and then my huge porter cable best sander w 80 grit. Seems to be working!! Quote
C-1ToolSteel Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 What did the rebound look like? From the lack of a pritchel hole, and especially the obvious casting line, I'm suspecting a cast iron ASO. Purdy though. Quote

The rebound isn't like I was hoping, but it's pretty good. It was found by my neighbors father in a field up in Temecula Ca, my guess is that it was an unfinished anvil that never had the pritchel bored. Quote
