Shaggylightning
Attempting a restoration on a found Bowie blade a friend of mine found. Although the blade seems to be a stamped or die cut blade, it does appear to have some forge marks on the blade. Hoping after a bath in 50% Apple Cider Vinegar, the rust will be lifted to reveal some type of indentifying marks. Hoping for the best results while staying realistic. Any and all opinions welcome. I'm trying to keep from firing this blade. However it does have a small bend near the tip.My first post BTW.
TheoRockNazz
Neat find. Any sketches of what you want to do to it?
Shaggylightning
I have tried a couple sketches. I will post a pic of my favorite ASAP. I'm also awaiting approval from the owner of the blade. Will post soon. Rust is releasing surprisingly well. Will post pics of that soon as well. Thank you for the interest. Tubalcain2
wire brush on an angle grinder would be my next step after you soak it. not a knotted wheel, that might scratch it up.
