ozhunter
Hello I have a very simple RapBlo forge (see the attached photo) My question is; Is this forge suitable for forging with Coke, or do I need something with a more defined fire pot? Forgive the photo, it was raining and dark.
D.C.
I am a little unclear about what I'm looking at...is that the WHOLE forge table, or just the fire pot? In any case, there are a number of forge designs that have no recessed pot or bowl that work just fine for coal/coke. You simply build up your fire, basically mounding it into a good pile of coals. ozhunter
Thanks D.C. Sorry about the crappy photo, I was in a hurry. That's my story anyway. The photo is the whole table. It is a fairly small forge. The table I believe has been fabricated and attached to a Rapblo blower and the original Rapblo legs. It will do me for now. I like the look of the Centaur fire pots. I may save my bottle tops and get one of them and then build a table around it. I probably won't do that until I get moved to our new house, as I am going to construct a permanent forge with a chimney. I just wasn't sure if I needed an actual pot to use Coke or, as you say, mound the coke up. Regards
