Hillbillysmith
Dr. Dean, already accomplished! I did this just minutes after welding the pop can. Beat you to the punch lol. Just to let you know, this wasn't very hard. I thought it was easier than the pop can I assure you. I think that the trick is supposed to be weld them at the edge, but NOT MELT THROUGH. My teacher told me to do this, and I'll admit, DEFFINATLY not easy. I tried this one more time, but failed to not melt through. I would've kept trying, but had to get work done in the lab. But I will keep trying!!! :)
Hillbillysmith
Here's the pics: The white thing in this one is a paper clip to show how small the weld is. Sorry about the bad pics, they're from my cell phone. It doesn't take very detailed pics.

g30360
razor blades were way before pop cans, much easier too
rawblacksmith
that's awesome habu68...i saw aluminum foil being welded on miller's website. i'm glad i was taught how to weld by a medical instrument welder...that and having no formal welding education makes me able to weld things "everybody" says can't be done. KYBOY
Popcans use to be the "big thing" at some of the local trade schools. Brazing them together. You didnt have bragging rights until you could do it. It takes a lot of practice but its not out of the question by any means. My torch is set up on propane and I dont have any propane brazing tips or id give it a go..:D
