Best crucible i've come by so far that's cheap and easy to find is old double tank compressors. Strip the tanks, cut in half and you get 4 crucibles. I weld a plate on the bottom as a heat shield, drill 2 oblong holes near the top. Use two metal hooks to insert into the oblong holes for transporting the crucible. I use in a 30Lbs propane tank converted into a kiln, lined with fire brick.
