October 31, 201510 yr Wanted to share this related to columbian bracket size but kept getting forbidden. I found an old columbian catalog dating from 1907 that listed replacement screws and boxes, these were for columbian original trentons. the sizes were as follows no. 1 25 to 40 lbs, no11/2 45 to55 lbs, no 2 60 to 75 lbs, no 3 80 to 95 lbs, no4 100 to 150 lbs ,no 5 160 to 200 lbs. They stated that the no 5 had a screw diameter of 2 inches WOW! i bet you could really reef on that one. They also listed horse shoe vises that were stated to have deeper throats than the machinist vises and also opened farther. they also had flat topped jaws for forging clips and turning the ends. hope this info helps.
