October 30, 201510 yr Welcome and thanks--Seeing you were in Scotland got me poking around the "internets" to see what those sock knives were called and what they were generally designed to look like.I highly suggest anyone interested in knife-making do an image search on "sgian dubh". There are some beautiful examples to look at and it's not a particularly complex form or size for a beginning knife maker to try.
