Anthony San Miguel
I know this isn't really a hammer, but a struck tool of some sort. Does anybody know what it's used for? Some sort of flatter?
Gergely
Well, no posts yet... so... I think it's a flatter but not for blacksmithing but automobil body work. Is the struck end of the head made of steel? It seems like different material in the pictures.Just my 2 eurocents
Anthony San Miguel
Thanks for the reply, Gergely. I think you're right about it being a flatter, but not for blacksmithing. The struck end is made of a dense, hard rubber. I'm going to try it on hot steel anyway and see how it does. If for whatever reason it doesn't work well I found a large rr bolt with a square head that I plan to make into a flatter.
arftist
That is a wood flooring hammer. It is used to strike a nail driver. It has absolutely nothing to do with metalworking.
Anthony San Miguel
Lol. Good to know. Thanks for the reply. Since I don't do any wood flooring and the hammer was cheap I may try it on some hot steel anyway.
