I like how the stand echos the shape of the drum. Simple but elegant lines. Nice job. Did you have any issues forging the arc where the metal is thinner at the mortises?

I re-drifted the holes after I bent the arch. It worked pretty well over all

I like it.  Doesn't the stand mar the rim of the drum though?  Perhaps, given the condition of the drum when you received it, that isn't an issue.  Very nice looking work.

Marring the drum isn't an issue, it is in pretty rough shape to begin with.  Also, the teacher is planning on cutting a hole in the side between two of the ribs to put in a flower pot.  The kids will be doing artwork on the skins as well, so it won't function as a drum for much longer.
