Found this little beauty at the local junk shop yesterday.   Rather nicely made piece.  It appears to have been cast (solid brass) and then hand-finished with files, grinders, and buffers.  Tips the scales at 2 lbs 3 oz.  The top shows some signs of use.  No identifying markings of any kind.  Don't know if it was originally made to be a paperweight, but it already has a prominent place on my desk.

 

 

 

 

 

Kind of neat. Looks like something I'd have done back in Jr high metals shop as a casting project.

My thought exactly though a bit rich in metal for my classes.
