Scrap rat Posted March 15, 2013 Share Posted March 15, 2013 Hey guys i have lots of grade 8 bolts 1in diameter with a smooth 12in shank and i also have 4340 axels of various diameters, i wanna make tomahawks, drifts, and hardy tools out of them, my question is which is a better steel, ive heard that G8 bolts are simalar or 4140.......
