MLMartin
I have been looking for a recommended belt speed for these belts. I have the coarse version. I will typicality be running heavy coarse belts on my 2 by 72 belt grinder, 24g 36g 60g. With the heavy grits I would normally run my grinder around 5400 F/M. With this in mind I plan on using a 6inch drive wheel on my 3450rpm motor. But will the non woven bear tex belts survive this speed? Or do I need to use a 5inch drive wheel and have a 4500 F/M? Thanks for the help. I have used 2 by 72 grinders many times but have never built one so I am unsure of the specific speeds I should run. Rich Hale
Wot does the maker call for? I use a variable speed grinder and almost always find that different belts, even of same make and brand seem to cut better and or smoother at different speeds. MLMartin
I searched all over the Norton site and could not find a recommendation, I guess I will need to call customer service. A variable speed would be great but a little out of the price range at the time.
