switchjv Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I finished this knife this morning. I purchased a handfull of files from someone for 3$. this one had been broken. After peparing the material(normalizing and annealing) I grinded and filed the blade. then sanded up to 2500 grit. I made the guard from 6061-t6 aluminum( this is my first guard). The handle is made of Brazilian cherry with stainless steel stud and an aluminum lanyard hole. The blade was clay fired and tempered twice. the blade was slightly etched as well. I still need to make the sheathe for it. Quote
MRobb Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Very nice! Can't wait to see the sheathe. Mitch Quote
switchjv Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks a lot. Working on the sheath for it now. I'm going to incorporate some hair on hide into the sheath somehow. Quote
