a62rambler
I bought a Champion No. 4 blower. It is powered by a belt. I am curious as to what ratio I should have between my turning pulley and the one on the blower. I'm guessing 10 to 1 so that one turn of the crank gets 10 turns of the blower. Can anyone tell me if that is correct based on other champion blowers?
pkrankow
That blower is probably meant to be powered by a motor. 50:1 is a typical ratio for hand powered. Phil
a62rambler
Thanks, I was way off then. Next question. Does it matter which way the blower is turned?
Ridgewayforge
On some models it does, some it doesn't. Try to get a feel for it. If it blows air both ways, then you're set.
HWooldridge
If the outlet is centered in relation to the axle and inlet, it should turn either way. The unidirectional types have the outlet offset to one side.
a62rambler
Thanks HW, that answers my question. So obvious I should have figured that out just looking at the various blowers.
