Where is the best place to get some duraboard? I want to use it for the doors on the forge I am building, but I can't find any that is available online in the small quantity that I need. I only need two sq. feet of the stuff. Any ideas? Thanks.

I bought 2300 Insboard locally at a boiler repair/ refractory supply. However, this turned out to be inadequate for my blown forge. The forge side of the board melted. Might work ok for my naturally aspirated forge as it doesn't get quite as hot. Haven't had a chance to test yet.

If there is a refractory supplier near you, give them a call. It's likely they'll just give you an amount that small as a sample, since they usually deal in very large quantities. If you tell them what you're doing they'll often also be interested and glad to help you out. I've gotten tens of feet of ceramic fiber insulation this way.

I bought some out of Houston but the company is now defunct...and I can definitely attest that 2300 rating is not sufficient for a typical forge. Been there, done that - the stuff melted.

I'm Going to be using the 3/4" t rex burner from hybridburners.com. would the 2600 deg. board be sufficient?

I don't use that burner but 2600 should hold up fine. 3000 rating might have more durability but it's usually harder to find.
