Ferrous Beuler Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Thieves have made off with an antique copper weather vane from the top of a New England barn. Chased away by police at first they returned a few nights later for their prize and took it, leaving a fake in its place.http://boston.cbslocal.com/2011/09/27/antique-weather-vane-stolen-from-norwell-barn-imitation-left-in-its-place/ Quote
CurlyGeorge Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Now that's a shame!! I hope that your post helps spread the word and that they get caught trying to sell it. Quote
Marksnagel Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Within the past few weeks, someone has stolen 30+ drop inlet grates from along the highway in our area. With the rising price of scrap iron, people are getting braver and braver. And dumber. They took the grates to one of the local scrap yards who promptly called the law which resulted in an arrest. If you think your anvil and other steel is safe, think again. Mark <>< Quote
