WmHorus Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Does it take 2 folks to adjust this? Because I thought I have to have someone to use the arm tool to pull over the Flywheel to take the tension off the toggle arm. to adjust the Pittman? Well what led to this was, a end nut falling off the toggle link in mid hammering so I shut the machine off and tightened both sides up. and the result of this was my hammer moving faster not slow and hard like I like so..... Not having had to adjust this before kinda why I am askin. Thanks Me Quote
peacock Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 If everything is right takes 1 person less than 20 seconds. Quote
Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Usually rotate the crank to the top and put a block between the dies. Now you can rotate down till the linkage is relaxed and adjust the pitman. Quote
WmHorus Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Had a mishap after doing it.....the nut wasnt tight enough and the while assembly fell off just as I started using it. SO after much cursing and trying different ways to get it back on I finally did and made it as tight as I could...live and learn I suppose Quote
