August 22, 201114 yr I picked this anvil up this weekend on a trip up to liberty tool In Maine. I was on my way home from the New England school of metal work. This appears to be a Fisher anvil. It is marked 00 and weighs just over 5 lbs on my kitchen scale. It clearly has a steel face plate. The hardie hole is 1/2" and the prichel is 1/4". It appears to be unused.
August 22, 201114 yr Nice! If I remember correctly, one of those sold for almost $1000 on ebay last year.
August 23, 201114 yr Author Perhaps I should take it back to my apartment and stroke it wile I mutter "my precious" to my self in the dark.
August 23, 201114 yr Next time you make it up this way let me know. I would like to meet you and maybe sit down to a meal together(We haz much fresh caught lob-stah!). Liberty Tool is a semi-annual trip for me and my brothers and about 90 minutes drive from the coast. I`ll take you around to some of the more friendly blacksmiths in the area. Doug Harley and Pete Brown are just two who live out on our end of the peninsula.
