Jacques Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I've started to make some CAD drawings of a tyre hammer idea I've got, and I need some dimensions from a 25 pound Little Giant or something similar. All the pictures I got is just confusing me,Height of the anvil The stroke of the hammer Length of the lower arms Length of the upper arms Size of the flywheel Distance between the anvil and the back post Thanks Quote

All the pictures I got is just confusing me,Height of the anvil The stroke of the hammer Length of the lower arms Length of the upper arms Size of the flywheel Distance between the anvil and the back post Thanks I can give you some answers. 1. How tall are you? I like the top of the anvil a little higher than my waist. Old (short) hammers are mounted at the height required by the owner. 2. A theorectical stroke of seven inches with freedom of movement of at least 12 inches to allow for spring whip. 6. The further the better, but any distance is a compromise. I mounted my dies so I work primarily from the side of the hammer, clearence is seldom an issue this way. Quote
