Hi Mitch,
Thanks, glad you like her :) She spans about three and a half feet in total. The lower abdomen came from an old empty powder fire extinguisher and the 'head' was dished out by hand from a circular plate. The legs are 12mm ( aprox 1/2 inch) forged round bar. It's welded together rather than traditionally joined as I'd have liked but time was short and I wanted to get her done before leaving :D

The peined candlesticks are textured 4 inch by 4 inch by 1/4 inch plate and the larger stands 7 inches high with the central spike forged from 1 inch square bar.

Both were great fun to make and a good final session in the fire :)

VERY cool! How big is the spider? Great details on the spider and the candle sticks. Well done!

There's nothing like a giant spider to catch the worlds attention. I sculpted a spider a few years back 10" tall in a 9 ft long web and it sits as a fence section out in front of my house. Traffic slows down, kids go crazy, and it remains the highest public opinion of all my yard displayed artwork. Sometimes makes me think all I should sculpt is spiders. I hope that ends up on public display somewhere because I'm sure everyone will stop to look at it. Nice work. Spears.

Ian, there is no critter I hate more than a spider. But that is a really cool spider. I like her. The candle sticks are really nice too. Looks like you had fun making them all.

Have a safe and blessed trip as you wander the globe. If you somehow get lost in northeastern North Carolina, post it, I'll find y'all and feed you. I check here each day and will follow your trip so long as you keep us informed. Look forward to reading about your adventure.
