The draft on a good forgehood will draw a lot of heat out of the smithy, as well as smoke. I don't remember who started the thread, but there was one about heating tools to prevent tool shock. Strix Varia Posted December 7, 2006 Author Share Posted December 7, 2006 Only my feet really were cold,..3/4 inch of cold mud around the anvil.Later that evening when i shut down i went to lift that propane tank,..and tore a huge round divot of turf up that had frozen to the tank.
