Adam2519
Very nice looking tools Mr Hofi. Some questions. 1. Steel used for tools? 2. wood used for handles? 3. Process used for making the gouge? 4. Any pictures/progress shots? Thankyou for sharing the picture of the tools. Adam

Hofi
THE STEEL IS 1045. MOST OF MY CARVIUNG TOOLS ARE FORGED FROM. QUENCHED IN WATER AND DROWOUT TWICE TO YELLOW TO GET BINITE WHICH MAKES IT VERY HARD AND TOUGH AND A VERY GOOD AND LASTING CUTTING ADGE.BECAUSE THE GRAINE OF THE 1045 STEEL IS VERY SMALL .SOME TIMES IF SOME ONE WANTS A MORE PROFESIONAL TOOLS I FORGE THEM FROM W1-W2 OR O1 AND D2 WHICE ARE MORE COMPLICAT TO FORGE AND QUENCH. THE WOOD IN THIS CASE IS FROM ROOTS OF OAK TREE WHICH ARE VERY GOOD FOR MALET HITTING WHILE CARVING THE GOUGE AND ALLTHE TOOLS ARE FORGED WITH AIR AND HAND HAMMER , BELT AND MINI HAND GRINDER NO PROCESS PHOTOS YET ALL OF THE TOOLS THAT ARE IN THE THREAD ARE A BIT GOUGE WITH BIGGER RADUSE HOFI
